A seasoned adventure athlete, Dianette Strange has competed in
many major adventure races including the 2000 Borneo Eco-Challenge
and the 2000 Raid Corsica, but her 2nd place finish in the women's
foot category of the 130 mile 2001 Iditasport Adventure Race in
February established her as a force to be reckoned with among endurance
racers. It was also during the 2001 Iditasport that Dianette became
a SealSkinz believer.
"Everyone in the race wanted to know what was keeping my feet so
dry and where they could get some," Dianette said of the experience.
" My feet were never wet and they stayed warm, too. You depend heavily
on your gear in these types of races. SealSkinz really came through
for me."
As captain of Team Cure Parkinson's, 2001 will be a very busy year.
The team will compete in the Discovery Channel World Championship
Adventure Race to be held in the Swiss Alps and Eco-Challenge in
New Zealand. The team has also scheduled numerous ascents of Mount
Whitney and an ascent of Mount Rainier in August.
I'm glad to have SealSkinz with me for the rest of the season," Dianette added.
"The warmth and breathability give me a big advantage, and in this
sport, every little bit will count a lot over the course of several
hundred miles."
